Fact-Check: A girl crying at a wedding ceremony is a fictional scene in MV
Photos and videos of newly wedding couple are often published on social media, but some of them do not come with exact information. One of them is that a photo showing a girl crying at a wedding ceremony was recently posted on social media. The photo comes with a claim saying the girl cries after a man marries another girl because she refused his marriage proposal. The photo had been shared many thousand times including shares made by social media users who speak Thai and Laos. After running Google Reverse Image, however, it proves the claim over the photo is misleading.
Social Media Claim
On November 21, a Facebook page named RFN Really Fresh News posted a photo showing a girl cried before a newly wedded couple. The Facebook page said the girl in the photo cried after the man – who refused marriage proposal – marries another girl.
The photo with the caption had been shared nearly three thousand times along with a mixture of comments and reactions; many of them thought the photo is a real event.
Below is a capture of the post with caption read: “This is a result of a girl who is likely a hen. When a man proposes for marriage, she says she does not want to marry, but when the man marries another girl, she cries like a victim. This is a lesson learned for some people.”
The photo was also published by a Facebook page in Laos language ມີແຕ່ໃຈ ໃຜຈີມັກ – leading to many more shares and comments made by Laos-speaking social media users who believed the photo is a real event. Below is a capture of the post made by the Facebook page in Laos language on September 18 last year.
The photo was published by some Thai media describing the girl in the photo went to stop the wedding ceremony of her husband with another girl, but she became more heartbroken.

The image was published September 18 last year by a local music producer named Bee Production. Below is a capture of the Bee Production’s post with caption read: “Applaud for her braveness to go there and ask questions. Some do not dare to face; only being a broken heart. This is a lesson learned for every girl. Do not give truth easily. Be continued!”
The image is a scene of a music video in Khmer called “បើមិនច្បាស់លាស់ម្ដេចឱ្យចាំ” (If unsure, why give a promise?). The artist is So Sophalin, and it is produced by Bee Production. The full MV can be watched on Bee Production’s YouTube channel published since September 14 last year.

Conclusion
Fact Crescendo Cambodia found out the photo mentioned above is misleading. The image is not a real life of the girl. The photo depicting the girl cries before a newly wedded couple is just a scene of a music video produced by Bee Production last year.
