One of them is an image that was shared on social media along with a caption saying it is a perspective of San Francisco. The image was widely shared by social media users along with a mixture of comments and reactions. Some social media users have commented on the image, believing it is real and expressing their desire to visit there. After running a reverse image search, however, it is found out the image is digitally altered.

Social Media Claim

An image was shared on Facebook in late January with a claim, saying it was an angle of San Francisco of the United States. The image has been widely shared by social media users along with a mixture of comments and reactions.

Many Facebook users have commented on the image, expressing their acceptance it was factual and desire to visit the city while many others questioned whether the image was digitally edited.

Fact Check

Fact Crescendo Cambodia began verifying the claimed image by running a reverse-image search which leads us to find out the truth as below.

The image was credited to sftourguy, a Tripadvisor tour guide who shared the image on his Instagram on January 27 along with a caption saying the image was photoshopped.

The Instagram user also said the image shows California Street where people can enjoy the view of the hill, cable cars, Chinatown, the Financial District, and the Bay Bridge as well.

Actually, the social media user added the image is a composition made by Tristan Zhou who said the image is a composite of two images which both were shot in San Francisco, CA. 

Below is the capture of Tristan Zhou who added the digitally edited image on his Instagram account on November 28, 2021.

By running reverse-image search, it is understandable that one part of the composited image is a view of the California Street. The street is an attractive to tourism. Photos of the streets can be easily found on the world wide web by typing keyword ‘California Street.’ Below is an image showing a view of California Street.

Fact Crescendo Cambodia found out the image shared on Facebook mentioned above is altered. The image was digitally edited by Tristan Zhou who composited two images of San Francisco. In fact, the original image shows the California Street with view of the Bay Bridge at the far end of the image.
