An Old Video of Football Fans Cheering Falsely Claimed as Ukraine’s War Victory

As the news says Ukraine has reclaimed some of its territories from the Russian invasion, a video clip depicting a large group of people in a bar going crazy after watching a big screen. A Facebook user claimed the video is of Ukrainians cheering after their country’s military has reclaimed many parts of their territory from the Russian invasion. After running a Google Reverse Image Search, however, it proves the claim over the video is false.

A video clip depicting a large group of people gathering in a bar and crying out after they watched a map of territory reclaim on a big screen was uploaded on Facebook.​ The video clip came with a claim saying they were Ukrainians cheering after their country’s counterattack had reclaimed many parts of territories from the Russian invasion.

The video has been widely shared on social media last week along with a lot of comments and reactions from social media users.

The video depicting a large group of people cheering in a bar was found on a YouTube channel named Heart News West County dating back to June 17, 2016.

The channel caption said fans in a bar in Ashton Gate stadium went crazy after the English striker Daniel Sturridge scored a goal to send England to the next round following beating Wales in Euro 2016.
