Syria has been struggling in a civil war and chaos for more than a decade, leading rumors and claims linking to the country’s situation and issues frequently spread on social media. One of them is a claim said a girl in a drawing of mom’s arms was an orphan in Aleppo city, Syria. The claim has been virally spread on social media along with many comments and reactions. After running Google Reverse Image, however, it is found out the claim is false.

A Facebook user posted a picture showing a young girl laying in the drawing of her mom’s arms. The Facebook user claimed the picture was taken in an orphanage in Syria’s Aleppo city. The picture has been virally shared on social media along with a mixture of comments and reactions.
Below is the capture of the Facebook user’s claim read: “Sleeping in mama’s arms picture taken in an orphanage in Aleppo.”
Another Facebook user Saikat & Satabdi posted a short video clip made from the picture along with the same claim read: “Sleeping in Mama’s Arms picture taken in an orphanage in Aleppo, Syria.” The clip has been viewed more than 19,000 times by social media users along with a mixture of comments and reactions.
Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia began an investigation into the claim mentioned above by running Google Reverse Image which leads us to find out the truth as described below.
The original picture is seen on the website of movies information IMDb, showing it is cover of O Avental Rosa film directed by Jayme Monjardim. The film was produced by Accorde Filmes in cooperation with Globo Filmes and released in 2018.
The film is about a 50-year-old financially struggling woman Alice who works as a caretaker for ill patients in a private hospital for high payment and a public hospital without earning money.
