As Cambodia’s next commune election is coming in June, a picture showing the country’s main opposition leader Kem Sokha standing with a group of beautiful girls was posted on social media. The picture has been multiple shared by Facebook users in different social media groups. However, after running a Google Reverse Image Search, it proves the photo is digitally edited.
Social Media Claim
A Facebook user posted a photo last month showing Kem Sokha – Cambodia’s main opposition leader whose political action has been banned for five years due to a “treason” charge – standing in the middle of eight beautiful girls.
The photo has been multiple shared by Facebook users, especially in different social media groups. Below is the capture of the photo which was posted on a Facebook page on April 30.

Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia began a verification over the photo by running Google Reverse Image Search which led us to find out the truth as below.
The photo showing eight girls standing around a man was found in an article of the SUN in late January this year.
The U.K-based media reported the man in the photo is a Thai who took a photo with his eight wives before a TV show.
The Thai man is Ong Dam Sorot, a tattoo artist who has eight wives living in a single house with rotation, the Sun’s report said.

Thus, the original photo shows no picture of Kem Sokha standing along with eight beautiful girls. And below is a comparable image.

Kem Sokha, 68, has been the president of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) since 2017 before it was dissolved by the country’s supreme court late that year after he was controversially charged with treason.
CNRP won 55 seats in the 2013 national election and then nearly haft of the total number of seats in the 2017 commune election.
Sokha had stayed in CNRP’s headquarters for several months after a phone call conversation with a young woman was leaked in 2016.
Conclusion
Fact Crescendo Cambodia found out the photo as mentioned earlier is altered. The photo of Kem Sokha was digitally edited along with eight girls. The original photo is seen a Thai man taking a picture with his eight beautiful wives before a TV show in late January this year.
