Soldiers parachuting is not relevant to the recent Israel and Palestine war

Recently, a video clip showed several aircraft and air force parachuting being posted, linking to and claiming that was the scene of a counter-attack on Hamas Palestine. Such remarks were widely circulated and reacted to online by social media users. However, our verification finds that this claim is misleading.

Social Media Claim

On October 10, 2023, one of the Facebook pages posted a news video showing a group of paratroopers jumping out of several planes. The video was posted and linked to the recent Israeli-Palestinian war crisis. The above claim has been shared several times by Facebook users. Many have commented and reacted to this video clip as well.

The following is a full video clip that reads: “Israel launches a three-pronged attack on Palestinian Hamas”.

The same claim was also found and posted on YouTube, with the claim of Parachute jumping above Israeli-Palestinian clashes last week.

Fact Crescendo Cambodia monitors and verifies the above video clips and content through the Google Reverse Image Search process, which leads us to find out the following facts:

A video clip with the exact same format and shape was found and posted on AiirSource Military's YouTube video site on May 28, 2016. It was confirmed that this was a parachute parade from the 82nd and 101st Brigades in North Carolina, USA.

The parachute jump was also published on the Daily Mail News website in 2016, which is not a scene of Israeli retaliation against the group Hamas Palestine recently.
