Fact Check

Fact Crescendo Cambodia begins checking the claim mentioned by running Google Reverse Image – leading us to the same photo and its information as well.

The photo is found in an article published by Vietnam’s media named the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in June 2018. VOV reported the road incident took place at a spot of a paved road in Thanh Xuan, Soc Son district, Hanoi. It happened just a day before publication.

The photo caption in the VOV’s report says the woman in the photo slipped and got injured after her motorbike hit a brick holding a big tent used to dry paddy rice.

This case happened in Vietnam more than three years ago, but some villagers in rural areas of Cambodia also used part of paved road to dry their paddy rice and other crops.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo Cambodia found out the claim as mentioned above is misleading. The road incident in the photo did not happen in Cambodia’s Kandal province. In fact, the photo shows a woman slipping on a spot on the paved road in June 2018 after her motorbike hit a brick holding tent used to lay out paddy rice for drying on a part of the road in Soc Son district, a part of Vietnam’s Hanoi capital city.
