It was claimed that the video was a Ukrainian girl who angrily reacted to a Russian soldier. The claim has been widely shared on social media by Khmer-speaking Facebook users along with a mixture of comments and reactions. After our investigation, however, it proves the claim is false.

A Facebook page posted a 14-second video clip on social media yesterday, depicting a young girl angrily confronting a soldier. The same social media user claimed the video shows a Ukrainian girl who tried to expel a Russian soldier from her home country.
The video clip has been widely shared by Khmer-speaking Facebook users along with many comments and reactions.
Below is the viral video clip which was claimed “A picture worth 1,000 words. A young Ukrainian girl tries to expel a Russian soldier from her homeland … But it is admirable to the morality of the Russian soldier. If the Khmer Rouge, kids, and even monks would be killed.”
The same video clip has been widely shared on social media in recent days after Russia has already invaded Ukraine for four days.

Fact Crescendo Cambodia began debunking the claim by running Google Reverse Image Search which led us to find out truth below.
The video clip is part of a more than 6-minute video published in a YouTube channel on December 25, 2012, nearly 10 years ago.
The full video shows a young girl in red trousers and a black T-shirt angrily confronting a soldier. Then, it shows another girl and a boy facing up a group of soldiers too.
The YouTube channel said the girl in the video is a Palestinian Ahed Tamimi who was just 11 years old confronted Israeli soldiers in late 2012.

The video was partly depicted in a video report by German-based media Deutsche Welle (DW) in July 2018 after she was released from an 8-month detention for slapping and kicking Israeli soldiers.
Ahed Tamimi is a Palestinian activist from the village of Nabi Salih in Palestine’s West Bank. She is known after appears in images and videos showing her confrontation against Israeli soldiers. She was arrested and placed under detention after she was filmed slapping and kicking Israeli soldiers.
