This claim has been widely shared by social media users, prompting discussions about the authenticity of the image and its actual location.
Below is the screenshot of the social media post on January 17, 2025, stating: “Ongoing construction of one of the world’s strongest roads in Vladivostok, Russia.”
The same claim was also shared on social media by another Facebook page, asserting that the ongoing road construction is taking place in Vladivostok, the easternmost city in Russia.

FACT CHECK
Fact Crescendo began debunking the claim by running a Google Reverse Image Search which led us to the following facts.
By performing a reverse image search, we found that the photo depicting the ongoing construction of a road crossing a mountainous area has been widely shared across social media platforms and the internet.
A video clip posted on social media by the Chinese embassy’s Facebook page in France features the same image of the road construction, which is part of the Huajiang Canyon Bridge located in Guizhou province, China.
Below is the full video clip showcasing the progress of the Huajiang Canyon Bridge, which connects to an expressway in Guizhou province. The Chinese embassy in France posted this video clip on Facebook on December 4, 2024.
According to a report (archived) by China’s state-owned news agency Xinhua in early 2024, the Huajiang Canyon Bridge – the world’s tallest bridge – spans the Beipanjiang River, connecting the Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway in Guizhou’s mountainous province.
In a report from last week, Xinhua stated that the construction of the 2,890-meter-long bridge, which began in 2022, is nearing completion.

Fact Crescendo concluded that the claim is false. The photo does not show road construction in Vladivostok, Russia, as alleged. Instead, it depicts a section of the road leading to the Huajiang Canyon Bridge, which connects to the Liuzhi-Anlong Expressway in Guizhou province, southwestern China.
