This story quickly spread across social media, with Facebook users sharing it multiple times, sparking mixed reactions and expressions.
The following is a screenshot from a Facebook post made a week ago, which was written in English: “Very SAD News: 30 minutes ago. Video! Elon Musk, he has been confirmed as…”.
The same claim, along with a photo of Elon Musk surrounded by doctors, has been shared by other Facebook users in recent days, leading to further circulation.
Below is a screenshot from a similar post on Sunday, which reads: “Very Sad: 40 minutes ago. Elon Musk, he has been confirmed as…”
The same claim was also found and published on Facebook on February 22, 2025.
Given the claim’s extensive dissemination and the considerable attention, it has received from the internet community, we believed it was necessary to perform a fact-check on the above subject.

Fact Crescendo began an investigation into the claim by reviewing reliable news circulated by international media platforms. We found the following facts:

However, despite rumors circulating on social media, no reputable news organizations have reported his death, indicating that the claim is unfounded.
Elon Musk’s most recent public appearance was on February 26, 2025, during President Donald Trump’s first cabinet meeting.
Musk was in attendance, sitting away from the table of secretaries. This appearance published on AP News serves as clear evidence that Musk is still alive and well, directly contradicting the false rumors circulating on social media claiming he had passed away.
