A statement claimed that former Prime Minister Hun Sen's wife, Bun Rany, had died. The claim was posted on social media by a Facebook page recently. The same Facebook page posted a photo of Ms. Bun Rany with the word "RIP" written on it, which means she, as the president of the Cambodian Red Cross, recently passed away.
The claim was shared on social media, along with comments and reactions from users speaking Khmer.

Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia has started checking and verifying the above claim by reviewing the clarification on the official Facebook page of Hun Sen, and news reports in Cambodia led us to discover the following truth:
News of the death of the leader's wife should be made public by the government and both the public and private media.
Hun Sen recently confirmed on his Facebook page on Friday that his wife, Ms. Bun Rany, is being treated at Calmette Hospital after she collapsed in her room a few days ago. He also confirmed that his wife's health had improved after receiving care from a team of doctors.
However, the ruling party leader confirmed that his wife has not been able to leave the hospital yet. She will need to wait for her head to be checked a third time to see the nerves that are affected.
