The claim comes after the former Thai prime minister announced plans to return to Thailand soon. Video clips with this kind of claim have been shared many times, along with mixed opinions and reactions from TikTok social media users who speak Khmer fluently.

Fact Crescendo Cambodia reviewed and verified the above claim through the Google Reverse Image Search application, which brought us to the following facts:

We found several identical video clips and photos showing scenes of Thaksin’s return above, which were posted on many websites and newspapers.

A view of the former Thai Prime Minister bowing to the ground was found and posted on the Getty Images website, an American visual media company and supplier of stock images, editorial photography, video, and music for businesses and consumers. The same website stated in its photo content that this was an aspect of Thaksin's return to Thailand after 17 months in exile in 2008.
