Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia questioned the validity of this claim and began verifying the facts using recent information and explanations from Cambodia’s Cybercrime Department.
On February 21, 2025, the Anti Cyber Crime Department’s Facebook page warned users about a phishing scam. This warning came at the same time as the widespread post about the alleged annual sale at Phnom Penh International Airport at a low price.
Below is a screenshot from the Facebook page, which states: “Recently, the Anti Cyber Crime Department noticed that an anonymous person posted a scam on Facebook with the intent to steal our private information and hack accounts to commit other crimes unknowingly.”

The above claim was also denied by the Cambodia Airports in an official notice on March 4, 2025. They confirmed that the post is false and misleading to the public.
