Photo Showing Hun Sen’s Bald Head Altered

Social Media Claim
On June 22, 2021, one of the Facebook users recently posted a photo showing the scene of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen smoking with his sunglasses on. This photo also shows the shape of his bald head. It has been shared several times, along with mixed reactions and expressions from Facebook users who are speaking Khmer.
The following screenshot was captured from the user’s post along with the caption in Khmer and translates in English as “Want to rob the western countries next term, they lie, believe almost dead”.
The photo was also found and posted by other Facebook users on June 17, 2021 which was captioned in Khmer or translated in English as “This story is over, sorry, because Covid just produced, we cannot continue filming”.
Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia had started to check and verify this photo directly by running a Google Reverse Image search, which brought us to the sources containing the following photos.
The exact photo was found on an international news website called the World published in 2015 mentioning and reporting on Cambodia prime minister, Hun Sen. In the same report, we observe that the photo does not show the state of baldness as users claim above at all, however instead this photo shows that he really smoked and wore sunglasses with his normal hair.
The following screenshot was captured from the World’s Report website written in English as “Cambodia’s prime minister is refusing to pay a $5,000 bet he made on the Pacquiao fight”.

According to other sources also show photos of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen when he was smoking However, Fact Crescendo Cambodia also found that no photos showed that he had a bald head nor no hair at all.
