After Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a special military operation on Ukraine since late of February, photos of Russia and criticisms on Putin were shared many times on social media. Meanwhile, a photo depicting Putin’s meeting table way longer than usual was posted recently on Facebook. This photo was attached with a caption claiming that “In the blink of an eye, completely losing confidence and friendship!”. It was reacted to and shared by Facebook users who are speaking Khmer. However, after running a Google Reverse Image Search, it found that the photo above is altered.

Social Media Claim
On April 13, 2022, one of the Facebook users shared a photo depicting Russian President Putin sitting in a meeting room with an unusual long table. It was attached to the text in Khmer which means that in the blink of an eye completely loses the trust of friendship. This photo has been shared several times by Facebook users recently.
The following is a screenshot image captured from the above user’s post showing views of Putin and his meeting table.
Fact Check
Fact Crescendo Cambodia had started to check and verify this photo directly by running a Google Reverse Image search, which brought us to the sources containing the following photos.
An exact photo of Putin’s meeting table was found on Getty Image, a British-American visual media company and is a supplier of stock images, editorial photography, video and music for business and consumers, with an archive of over 200 million assets. The same website does not feature Putin’s unusually meeting table at all.
The following headline was captured from the website above that reads in English as “Russian President Vladimir Putin chairs a meeting on economic issues at the Kremlin in Moscow on February 28, 2022”

Fact Crescendo Cambodia found that the photo posted by the above Facebook users is false. In fact, it was altered before being posted on social media. This photo was found and taken on February 28th during Putin chairs a meeting on economic issues. The original photo of this meeting table did not show an unusually long shape at all.
